Ciprian Buzila is an Instructor of Art and Design History at James Madison University (JMU), joining in 2024. They hold a Ph.D. in History of Art and Architecture from Brown University, alongside a Master’s degree and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Art History and Furniture/Interior Design from institutions in Romania. Their professional experience includes roles as a specialist at Romania’s National Institute for Heritage and a scientific researcher at the University of Architecture in Bucharest.
Research interests focus on Modern Architecture, Design Theory, and Historic Preservation. They have received significant recognition through a Romanian government fellowship at the Romanian Academy in Rome and a Fulbright Junior Award at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.
