Cinthia Lopes da Silva is a Professor at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), Paraná, Brazil, where she teaches undergraduate Physical Education courses. She previously held academic roles at Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (2008–2021) and Universidade do Planalto Catarinense (2022–2023). She serves on the board of directors of the BRICS Council of Exercise and Sports Science (BRICSCESS) since 2017.
Educated at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), she holds a Master's (2003) and Doctoral degree (2008) in Physical Education, with a Sandwich Doctorate at Technical University of Lisbon. She also completed post-doctoral studies in Communication at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona.
Her research focuses on leisure and School Physical Education through a sociocultural lens, including technology integration like augmented reality for educational comic books. She has presented at international conferences in Brazil, Spain, France, Argentina, Ecuador, Portugal, South Africa, and the U.S.
Key projects include FAPESP-funded research on leisure education via comic books and an online teaching course via Eurosci Network to enhance OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) usage.
