Cindy Xin Wang

Cindy Xin Wang is an Associate Professor of Marketing at California Polytechnic State University's Orfalea College of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business.

Her research explores consumer social interaction dynamics, examining how customer engagement and consumer power influence marketing communication and promotions. Her work bridges consumer behavior and marketing strategy, with applications in retailing, pricing, and advertising.

Dr. Wang's publications appear in high-impact journals including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and Journal of Public Policy & Marketing. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing Research and Global Marketing, and actively supports diversity and inclusion initiatives at Cal Poly through academic programs and cross-cultural collaborations.
