Cindy Thompson

Cindy Thompson serves as Adjunct Oboe Instructor at Friends University and directs the Tower Woodwind Quintet. She holds additional teaching appointments at Newman University, Washburn University, Bethel College, and Hesston College.

Performance Background: Active performer with Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Music Theater of Wichita, Opera Kansas, and Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony. Recorded as oboe soloist for composer John Leavitt's works.

Education: Earned Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance from Wichita State University and Master of Music from University of Akron. Studied under Peggy Michel, Linda Strommen, and James Ryon with professional development at workshops led by John Mack and Elaine Douvas.
