Dr. Churchill Agutu is affiliated with ETH Zurich's Energy and Technology Policy Group, focusing on energy access in Sub-Saharan Africa. He holds a PhD from ETH Zurich (2023), MSc in Chemical Engineering (PV Technology) and BEng from the University of Pretoria. His research explores off-grid electrification's role in poverty reduction, emphasizing Rwanda. He is a MasterCard Foundation Scholar and founder of the Africa Green Collar Project.
Key research interests include renewable energy policy, sustainable development, and technology valuation. Recent publications address electrification costs and innovation systems in Africa. He has contributed to policy briefs on off-grid finance and collaborated with institutions like Carbon Trust Africa and Promethium Carbon.
