Christopher Taylor

Christopher Taylor is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at The University of Sheffield and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at The University of Manchester's Division of Psychology & Mental Health. He is also a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on psychological therapies for severe mental health experiences, including psychosis. His work bridges clinical practice and academic research.

• Education: Degrees in Psychology from the Universities of Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Manchester, including a ClinPsyD and PhD in Clinical Psychology.

Dr. Taylor’s research explores schema theory and mental imagery in developing psychological interventions for psychosis and schizophrenia. His work emphasizes decision-making capacity restoration and schema change through CBT. Recent articles highlight feasibility trials, experimental case series, and mediation analyses linking parenting, attachment, and psychopathology.

His research output is concentrated in Psychological Therapies for Psychosis and Mental Imagery, with a focus on innovative interventions like imagery-focused CBT. Collaborations span institutions and disciplines, including projects with the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR).
