Christopher Stone

Christopher Stone is a Lecturer at the School of Computing, Edinburgh Napier University. He completed his PhD (2015-2020) focusing on combinatorial optimisation via graph-based approaches under supervisors Prof Emma Hart and Prof Ben Paechter. His research explores automated methods for solving complex optimisation problems.

Research interests include:

• Development of hyper-heuristic frameworks for cross-domain problem solving
• Application of grammatical evolution to generate constructive heuristics
• Graph-based approaches for combinatorial optimisation scenarios
• Computational methods for evolutionary algorithms

Publications demonstrate interdisciplinary work spanning computational optimization, evolutionary algorithms, and child psychology. Recent research trends show strong focus on automated heuristic generation and computational problem-solving techniques.
