Christopher S. Moore

Christopher S. Moore is a Professor of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder, affiliated with the Center for Astrophysics and Space Astronomy (CASA) and the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP). His research focuses on solar atmospheres, magnetic cycles, and the development of advanced space instrumentation, including CubeSat missions like MinXSS. He leads investigations into coronal heating mechanisms, solar flare dynamics, and the energy budget of eruptive events. Moore has pioneered innovations in UV coatings for space telescopes and contributed to the design of multi-wavelength observatories such as SSAXI-Rocket and ECCCO.
