Christopher Riley is Principal Lecturer in Law and Head of Clinical Provision at Sheffield Hallam University's Sheffield Institute of Law and Justice. Since joining SHU in 2007, he has developed award-winning clinical learning programs and teaches criminal law, international criminal justice, and oversees the Hallam Criminal Appeals Clinic and Prison Clinic where students handle real cases.
His research examines:
- Miscarriages of justice and wrongful conviction patterns
- Post-release experiences of exonerees
- Clinical legal education methodologies
- Access to justice frameworks
He has presented internationally on clinical legal education and access to justice reform, including at the Australian National University and UK parliamentary forums.
