Christopher Richardson
Associate Professor · Supramolecular Chemistry
University of WollongongAbout
Christopher Richardson is Associate Professor in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience at the University of Wollongong. He holds a PhD from the University of Canterbury and completed postdoctoral training at University of Bath, Auckland Medical Research Foundation, and University of California, Riverside.
His research applies supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineering to develop functional materials with applications in sensing, catalysis, and nanomedicine. Current projects focus on metal-organic frameworks, molecular recognition systems, and catalytic nanomaterials.
Recent publications demonstrate innovations in heterocyclic synthesis methodologies and functional material design. Richardson's group develops novel synthetic pathways for complex molecular architectures with tailored properties.
Supervises PhD candidates working on nickel catalysis, MOF post-synthetic modification, radical frameworks, and photocatalytic systems. Secured ARC funding for charge-controlled separation materials and automated synthesis platforms.
