Christopher Pihl is an Associate Professor and Lecturer at Södertörn University, affiliated with the Department of History and Contemporary Studies. His research bridges economic history, social history, and political history during the early modern period.
He earned his PhD through a dissertation on gender division of labor, livelihood opportunities, and state power in 16th-century Sweden. Currently, he collaborates with Martin Almbjär at Uppsala University on the Riksbanken Jubilee Fund-funded project 'Monetary Policy and Monetary Practice: Money and State Formation in Early Modern Sweden' (P22-0151), investigating early banking systems and societal perceptions of monetary changes.
