Christopher Nachtsheim

Christopher J. Nachtsheim is the Frank A. Donaldson Chair in Operations Management within the Supply Chain and Operations Department at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He has held leadership roles as Department Chair (1993-1996, 2002-2014) and Associate Dean of Faculty and Research (1996-2000), and has taught at institutions including the Warsaw School of Economics and Vienna School of Business and Economics since 1993.

• BA in Mathematics and Quantitative Methods, College of St. Thomas (1973)

Dr. Nachtsheim’s research focuses on statistics, business analytics, optimal experimental design, regression analysis, predictive modeling, and quality management. His work includes developing Definitive Screening Designs and the Coordinate Exchange Algorithm for exact optimal designs. His recent publications emphasize experimental design efficiency, dimensional analysis, and industrial applications.

Scientific awards and honors include:
