Christopher Junium

Christopher Junium serves as an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences, where he leads graduate academic initiatives and research supervision.

His research spans critical Earth science domains:

• Geobiology: Investigating interactions between biological processes and geological systems throughout Earth's history
• Astrobiology: Exploring life's potential beyond Earth through planetary science and extremophile studies
• Paleoclimate: Reconstructing historical climate patterns using geological proxies to inform modern climate models
• Paleoceanography: Analyzing ancient ocean conditions to understand long-term marine ecosystem evolution
