Christopher G. Chute, MD, DrPH, MPH, serves as Bloomberg Distinguished Professor at Johns Hopkins University with joint appointments in the School of Medicine (Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Health Sciences Informatics), Bloomberg School of Public Health (Department of Health Policy and Management), and School of Nursing (Division of Health Informatics). He concurrently holds the position of Chief Health Research Information Officer for Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Chute obtained his medical degree from Brown University, completed internal medicine residency at Dartmouth, and earned a doctorate in Epidemiology from Harvard University. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics.
His research focuses on biomedical terminologies, health information technology standards, big data analytics in healthcare, and electronic medical record systems. He leads major initiatives including the World Health Organization's ICD-11 revision as Chair of the Revision Steering Group.
