Christopher Dick is a Professor of English at Tabor College, where he has held academic ranks from Assistant Professor to his current position. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in English from the University of Kansas, and a B.A. in History and English from Tabor College. His teaching spans courses like American Literature, Modern English Grammar, and Advanced Writing.
Dr. Dick’s research focuses on literary translation, metaphor analysis in 20th-century literature, and Mennonite cultural narratives. He has published reviews and scholarly articles on Hemingway, Moby-Dick translations, and Soviet-era family narratives. His presentations address themes like metaphoric loss in translations, Mennonite bildungsromane, and pedagogical ethics.
Recipient of Tabor’s Clarence Hiebert Excellence in Teaching Award (2011) and the Richard G. Kyle Faculty Lecturer distinction (2009), his work bridges literary analysis with faith-based educational contexts. He has presented keynote addresses on education metaphors and restorative justice themes in Flannery O’Connor’s work.
