Christopher Cox is a President’s and Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Near Eastern Languages & Cultures, University of California, Los Angeles. He holds a Ph.D. in Egyptology from Brown University, with a dissertation focusing on Kushite Royal Art, advised by Professor Christelle Alvarez. His research explores Nubians as colonial subjects of ancient Egyptian empires and analyzes Greco-Roman anti-black racism in historical and modern contexts.
