Christopher Chyba

Christopher Chyba is a Professor of Astrophysical Sciences and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Professor in International Affairs at Princeton University. He has held significant roles in academia, including co-directing the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University and holding the Sagan Chair at the SETI Institute. His work bridges planetary science and policy, with a focus on nuclear weapons, biodefense, and planetary protection.

Research Interests span planetary physics and exobiology, including studies on the origin of life, planetary defense, and electromagnetic effects on planetary systems. He also explores policy-relevant topics such as nuclear deterrence, biodefense, and arms control.
