Christopher Carmona

Christopher Carmona serves as Associate Professor of English and Director of the Center for Mexican American Studies and Research at Our Lady of the Lake University, specializing in Mexican American Studies, Rhetoric, and Literature with a focus on racialized violence and Ethnic Studies advocacy.

His educational qualifications include:

• PhD in Cultural Rhetoric, Writing, and Poetics from Texas A&M University
• Master of Arts in English from University of Texas at Brownsville
• Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Texas-Pan American

Carmona's research bridges academic scholarship and community engagement through promoting Pre-K-12 Ethnic Studies curricula and amplifying marginalized voices affected by systemic violence, utilizing an Engaged Adaptive Pedagogy framework.
