Christopher Bishop is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the Centre for Trauma Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. He holds a BSc, MSc, and PGDip and focuses on extracorporeal-endovascular resuscitation strategies for shock, cardiac arrest, and traumatic injury.

His research explores the deployment of veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) beyond intensive care units, particularly for cardiac dysfunction following severe traumatic haemorrhage. He is also an honorary lecturer in Resuscitation Science for the Institute of Prehospital Care at London’s Air Ambulance.
Chris contributes to clinical education through the ‘SPEAR’ (Specialist Percutaneous Endovascular Aortic Resuscitation) pre-hospital endovascular resuscitation programme and investigates clinical, logistic, and human factors barriers to VA-ECMO implementation under the Transform Trauma initiative.
