Christopher Bingham serves as Phillip Hettleman Distinguished Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he also holds administrative roles as Assistant Dean of Strategy and Innovation and Area Chair of Strategy and Entrepreneurship. His office is located in McColl 4609.
Dr. Bingham's research focuses on innovation tradeoffs, strategic leadership in dynamic markets, and entrepreneurial decision-making. His work bridges academic research and practical business applications.
He has received significant recognition including the Bullard Faculty Research Impact Award and multiple best-paper awards in top management journals. His executive teaching has won multiple Excellence in Teaching awards in UNC's MBA programs.
Dr. Bingham engages extensively with industry through executive education and consulting for major organizations including 3M, Intel, Marriott, Procter & Gamble, and multiple U.S. military branches. His book Productive Tensions: How Every Leader Can Tackle Innovation's Toughest Tradeoffs synthesizes key research insights.
