Christopher Baum is Professor of Economics and Social Work at Boston College. His research focuses on applied econometrics, financial economics, and public health policy. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Michigan and develops econometric methods implemented in Stata software.
Research spans refugee labor integration, health policy impacts, financial econometrics, and environmental health outcomes. Recent work analyzes COVID-19 vaccination mental health effects, cannabis legislation impacts, and econometric methods for bubble detection. Publications appear in leading journals including Journal of Applied Econometrics and Health Economics.
Dr. Baum teaches courses in Econometrics and Applied Econometrics. He maintains active development of Stata modules for econometric analysis and has organized several Stata conference workshops.
