Christopher Banerji

Christopher Banerji is a Senior Research Fellow at King's College London's Comprehensive Cancer Centre and Theme Lead for Clinical AI at the Alan Turing Institute. He also serves as an NHS histopathologist at University College London Hospitals. His academic journey includes a Mathematics degree from Oxford, a PhD in computational and cell biology from UCL, and graduate medical training at Imperial College London.

His research focuses on clinical AI for NHS applications, emphasizing:

• Mathematical/computational analysis of biomedical data
• Pathological heterogeneity (molecular to clinical scales)
• Biomarker discovery in muscular dystrophy, cancer, and stem cells
• Multimodal data integration, uncertainty quantification, and transparent AI
• Deep learning geometry and stochastic biological modeling

He received the Muscular Dystrophy UK President’s Award for early-career excellence. He leads Clinical AI initiatives at the Alan Turing Institute and collaborates across King's College London's precision oncology and computational biology teams.
