Christophe Verneuil

Christophe Verneuil is a Lecturer in contemporary history at the University of Picardy Jules Verne since 1997, affiliated with the National Higher Institute of Teaching and Education (INSPÉ) and the CHSSC research unit (UR UPJV 4289). His academic appointments span teaching and research roles across French higher education institutions.

His research spans critical historical domains:

• International relations
• History of Belgium
• Political history of France across the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries
• History of religion

Verneuil earned his Doctor of History from the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV) in 1996 with the thesis "Belgium between France and Germany, 1830-1914. Diplomacy and Strategy" under Georges-Henri Soutou. He holds the Agrégation in History (1990) and completed foundational studies at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris (1987-1991).

Prior to his current position, he held teaching and research roles including ATER appointments at both University of Paris XII (1996-1997) and University of Picardy (1995-1996), and an AMN position at University of Picardy (1992-1995).
