About
Christophe Scheffer is a Research Engineer at the University of Lorraine's CRPG (UMR 7358 CNRS-UL), where he leads the RéGEF infrastructure project since May 2022. Previously, he worked as a Research Associate at Université Laval (2018–2022) and held a temporary teaching/research position at Université de Guyane (2017–2018). His academic journey includes a PhD in GeoRessources from Université de Lorraine (2016) and a Master's in Earth and Environmental Sciences (2013).
His research focuses on Economic Geology, particularly the structural controls on gold mineralization, porphyry systems, and hydrothermal fluid dynamics in regions like Lavrion (Greece) and the Superior Province (Canada). Key themes include metamorphic petrology, isotopic geochemistry, and ore deposit genesis.
Recent publications highlight his work on gold-bearing deformation zones, skarn-porphyry systems, and fluid mixing mechanisms during post-orogenic collapse. His projects span from analytical geochronology (RéGEF infrastructure) to field-based mineralogical surveys in Greece and Canada.
