About
Christoph Ebenbichler, MSc, is a lecturer at the Institute of Sports Science and coach at the Olympic Center of the University of Innsbruck, where he has worked since 2010. A former professional ski cross athlete whose career was redirected by a pre-Olympic injury in 2010, he now specializes in coaching and rehabilitating injured athletes. His approach integrates physical training with psychological support, emphasizing life perspective beyond sports.
His research focuses on sports injury rehabilitation, evidence-based athlete training, and the psychological aspects of recovery. He leverages the university's research environment to develop tailored, objective training methodologies. Notably, he manages 14 of the Olympic Center's 64 athletes, with particular emphasis on post-injury recovery.
Outside academia, Ebenbichler remains active in mountain sports and encourages athletic engagement with his children, prioritizing enjoyment over professional ambition.
