Dr. Christine Whyte is a Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Glasgow's School of Humanities. Her research examines African history with particular focus on colonialism, slavery, and childhood in West Africa and its diaspora. She utilizes archival and oral history methodologies to reconstruct historical experiences of marginalized communities.
Current projects investigate abolition processes in Sierra Leone, labor histories of the African diaspora, and comparative childhood studies. She contributes to digital humanities initiatives on slavery archives and teaches courses on global history, colonialism, and historical methodology.
