Christine Schneider is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Akron. She also teaches in the Health Sciences department at Cleveland State University and serves as a lecturer in the Master of Public Health program at NorthEast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), where she contributes to Evidence-Based Medicine instruction in the School of Medicine.
Her research focuses on medical sociology, particularly at-risk populations, disability, healthcare systems, and veteran reentry programs. She emphasizes improving autonomy and independence for adults with intellectual disabilities through vocational opportunities, medical autonomy initiatives, and wellness programs.
Dr. Schneider is the Executive Director of InclusionWorks, a non-profit addressing community needs in Cuyahoga County, and she integrates her experience as a veteran into her work on veteran health and mentoring.
