Christine Scheef

Christine Scheef is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of St.Gallen, specializing in Family Business and Entrepreneurship. She holds affiliations with the Swiss Institute of Small Businesses and Entrepreneurship (KMU-HSG) and the Center for Family Business (CFB-HSG). Her research focuses on Corporate Governance, Strategic Management, Family Business dynamics, Strategic Leadership, Succession Processes, and the Asian Business Context. She earned her PhD in Strategic Management from the University of St.Gallen, with a research fellowship at INSEAD in Singapore.

Prof. Scheef's professional career includes a five-year tenure as General Manager at the St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia (SGI-HSG) in Singapore, followed by research roles including a visiting PhD at INSEAD (2013–2014) and Research Associate at the Institute of Management (IFB-HSG) (2010–2013). She teaches courses in Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship, and Southeast Asian business contexts at both the University of St.Gallen and Singapore Management University (SMU).

Her research explores how ownership structures, founder identities, and strategic decisions impact organizational success. Recent work examines board dynamics post-CEO succession, the cost-benefit of board committees, and succession planning in family firms. She actively contributes to academic communities like the Academy of Management (AOM), Strategic Management Society (SMS), and the International Family Enterprise Research Academy (IFERA).
