Dr. Christine Ou is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Victoria, specializing in perinatal mental health and infant sleep. Her research examines bidirectional relationships between parental sleep, mood disorders, and child development using mixed methods.
She investigates anger trajectories postpartum, sleep training cultural perspectives, and alcohol use patterns during health crises. As a Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative committee member, she advocates for national integrated care strategies.
Awarded the UBC Public Scholar and Rising Star honors, she partners with public health agencies on knowledge translation. Current projects include cross-cultural sleep studies and technology-augmented recruitment for maternal health research.
