Christine Longhurst

Christine Longhurst is Assistant Professor of Music and Worship at Canadian Mennonite University with graduate degrees from Southern Methodist University (MM), Perkins School of Theology (MSM), and Robert Webber Institute for Worship Studies (DWS). Her career spans pastoral worship leadership, seminary instruction, and resource development for faith communities.

Teaching areas include Leading Music in Worship, History of Congregational Song, and Music Ministry. She developed the re:Worship and Contemporary Psalms blogs to provide practical resources for worship planners globally.

Longhurst's research examines the theological content of worship music and the evolution of worship practices in Anabaptist traditions. Recent publications analyze textual themes in contemporary worship music and provide liturgical resources for ecological stewardship and social justice observances.

Community engagement includes workshops for churches across Canada and international teaching at institutions like Nazarene Theological College (UK).
