Christine LIU Persichette

Christine LIU Persichette is an Adjunct Professor of Journalism at Long Island University, affiliated with the School of Visual Arts, Communications and Digital Technologies. She is also a practicing broadcast journalist, currently serving as a morning anchor for FiOS 1 News, bringing real-world media experience into her academic instruction.

Her research and teaching interests focus on journalism and electronic media, particularly news writing for broadcast platforms. These interests stem from her extensive professional background in television news reporting and anchoring.

Ms. Persichette has had a distinguished career in broadcast journalism, with over a decade as a general assignment reporter for Fox 5 and My 9 News. She previously hosted "Heroes on Our Island" on FiOS 1, highlighting community service and local impact stories. Her earlier roles include positions at News 12, the Fox affiliate in Rochester, NY, and the ABC affiliate in Elmira, NY.

She earned her educational qualifications from reputable institutions: a B.A. in Communication Arts from the University at Albany and an M.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the New York Institute of Technology. These credentials support her dual expertise in communication theory and journalistic practice.

As an adjunct faculty member, she contributes to the academic mission of LIU by teaching courses in news writing for electronic media, bridging academic learning with industry standards.
