Dr. Christine Haddow is an Associate Professor of Criminology (Learning and Teaching) and Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Criminology at Edinburgh Napier University. She serves as Employability Lead for Social Sciences and School Academic Lead for Curriculum Design in the School of Applied Sciences, driving the ENhance curriculum framework. Her work focuses on qualitative research with vulnerable populations, particularly justice-involved veterans, mental health in prisons, and desistance processes.
- Academic Leadership: Led QAA Scotland Enhancement Themes cluster on Programme Leadership since 2018; co-led Community and Belonging initiatives at institutional and national levels.
- Research Expertise: Explored veterans in custody (Edinburgh Napier/Carnegie Trust funding), third-sector criminal justice organizations during the pandemic (Scottish Funding Council/Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum), and participatory methods in prison education (Chief Scientists Office).
- Educational Contributions: Developed MSc Applied Criminology, BSc Policing and Criminology, and MBA (Criminal Justice) programs. Currently external examiner for London South Bank University's criminology programs.
