Christine Edelmann is a doctoral candidate in philosophy at the University of Hildesheim's Institute of Philosophy, Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practice. She is an associate member of the DFG Research Training Group 2477 'Aesthetic Practice' since October 2022. Her research focuses on aesthetics, media philosophy, philosophy of language, ethics, and social philosophy, with open research areas including typography-philosophy intersections and philosophy of dying/death. She has organized public events like ImPuls – Conversations at the Domhof on topics such as lifestyles and attitudes.
Education: Studied philosophy, theater, and literature in Hildesheim and San Sebastián. Teaching experience includes tutorials on political philosophy and philosophy of language at the University of Hildesheim (2014–2015). Freelance graphic designer since 2015, exploring typography and representation through artistic works exhibited at Kunstraum53 in 2015. Active in palliative care as a volunteer end-of-life companion for adults (since 2018) and children/adolescents (since 2020), and participates in federal working groups at the German Hospice and Palliative Care Association (DHPV).
Doctoral project: 'Aesthetics of the Book: In Search of Forms of Text Presentation in Their Linear and Non-Linear Possibilities' (supervised by Prof. Dr. Andreas Hetzel). Professional activities also include cultural practice blogging and event coordination at the Kulturcampus Domäne Marienburg.
