Christine Baduel

Dr Christine Baduel is a Research Fellow at the French Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD) and an Honorary Associate Researcher at the University of Queensland, Australia, within the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS). Her work focuses on organic pollutants of emerging concern in aquatic systems, including PFAS, pharmaceuticals, flame retardants, and tire additives.

She specializes in developing innovative analytical strategies such as multi-residue, suspected, and non-targeted analysis to prioritize contaminants for risk management and monitoring. Her research group operates at the Institute of Environmental Geosciences (IGE) in Grenoble, France, and she collaborates internationally on projects in Vietnam, Cambodia, Morocco, Bolivia, and Mexico. Dr Baduel also works with the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS) on wastewater-based epidemiology initiatives.
