Christine Adams

Christine Adams is Professor of History at St. Mary's College of Maryland, specializing in French history, gender studies, and family history. She holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and has published extensively on bourgeois families, maternal societies, and cultural politics in 18th-19th century France.

Her research explores intersections of gender, class, and power dynamics in historical contexts, with recent work examining the cultural impact of Merveilleuses in revolutionary France. Awards include fellowships from the American Council of Learned Societies and Mellon Foundation.
