Christina Wood

Christina Wood is a Senior Lecturer in English Education at the University of Sunderland, joining in 2023. Previously, she held roles at Durham University as Lead Tutor for PGCE English (2022) and worked in schools across the north-east of England, including leadership positions such as Head of Department and Assistant Headteacher. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in English Literature (2001) and an MLitt in Postcolonial Literature from Newcastle University (2002), followed by Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from Durham University (2004).

Her expertise includes curriculum sequencing, pedagogy development, and teacher training. She focuses on fostering creativity in English education and curriculum development. She has led CPD initiatives and advised on curriculum development in special schools.

Key roles include programme leadership for PGCE English and supervision of teacher placements. She emphasizes supporting students to become inspiring and creative English teachers.
