Christina Torbert

Christina Torbert is Associate Professor and Head of Continuing Resources and Acquisitions at the J. D. Williams Library, University of Mississippi. She oversees the acquisition, licensing, budgeting, and access management of all library content across formats and leads collection development initiatives. She also serves as the subject specialist for philosophy and religion, supporting curriculum and research in those disciplines.

Her research and professional interests center on academic librarianship, philosophy, religion, and information literacy. She specializes in Abrahamic faiths, Eastern religions, biblical studies, and gender in religious texts. Her work supports interdisciplinary scholarship through strategic collection development and instructional outreach.

Christina Torbert is actively engaged in library service and professional development, including her role as Chapter Adviser for the Epsilon Omega chapter of Alpha Phi Omega. She contributes to information literacy programs and supports access to scholarly resources across the university.
