Christina M. Limpert is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF). She is a multidisciplinary social scientist and qualitative researcher focusing on the intersection of culture, society, and environmental behaviors, attitudes, and practices.
Her research interests include Environmental Sociology, Gender Studies, Popular Culture, EcoCinema, Critical Pedagogy, and Qualitative Research Methods. Dr. Limpert investigates sites of informal education and examines how culture and society shape human thought and action in environmental contexts. She is particularly known for her work on EcoCinema and digital storytelling, as well as gender and identity in environmental movements.
Dr. Limpert's recent publications explore the role of social media in reshaping wilderness ideology, sustainable behaviors on campus, and student activism. Her work often employs qualitative methods and critical theory to address issues of power, privilege, and identity in environmental discourse.
She currently advises PhD student Akosua Asabere in the area of Natural Resources Management, focusing on gender and environmental governance.
