Christina C. Gigler

Christina C. Gigler is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Widener University, affiliated with the Social Work programs (BSW, MSW, and dual-degree MEd/PhD & MSW). She holds an MSW from the University of Maryland at Baltimore (1990) and a BSW from Shippensburg University (1989). Her work spans over 30 years in clinical practice, administration, and academia, emphasizing student-centered experiential learning. She is deeply committed to social justice advocacy, particularly in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Research interests include clinical supervision, the impact of communication technology on practice, trauma awareness, and social work ethics. She actively serves on the NASW-PA Ethics Committee and has presented nationally on supervision, crisis intervention, and ethical practice. Gigler also engages in community leadership to support youth and families, aligning with Widener’s Center for Social Work Education mission to empower through education and advocacy.
