Christiane Weber is a Professor at the University of Stuttgart and the University of Innsbruck, specializing in Architectural and Building History, with a focus on Cultural and Technical Knowledge Transfer between France and Germany. She serves as Director of the Institute for Architectural History (ifag) at the University of Stuttgart and was appointed Professor of Civil Engineering History at the University of Innsbruck in 2023. Previously, she was Associate Professor (2019–2023) and Dean of Studies (2021–2023) at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Innsbruck.
- Education: Habilitation (2019) and PhD (2010) in Architectural History, with studies at Karlsruhe University, Université Strasbourg, and École Paris-Belleville.
- Research Interests: Building Technology, Urban History, Cultural Heritage, 19th–20th Century Engineering, and Franco-German Architectural Exchange.
Her work examines physical-to-digital modeling transitions, Gothic cathedral restoration, and historical construction methods. Notable projects include the cluster of excellence Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture (since 2024) and the ANR-FWF Engineering Nationality project (since 2021). Scientific awards include the Frankreichpreis (2019) and Feodor-Lynen Fellowship (2014–2015).
