Christian Spatscheck

Prof. Dr. Christian Spatscheck is a Professor of Theories and Methods of Social Work at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Bremen University of Applied Sciences. He serves as Chairman of the German Social Work Association (DGSA) and holds editorial roles for journals including sozialraum.de (as managing editor), European Journal of Social Work, and Nordic Social Work Research.

His research explores social work methodologies, youth development, community engagement, and institutional evaluation. He has international affiliations as a visiting scholar at Lund University (School of Social Work and Social Welfare) since 2011 and visiting professor at the University of Pisa (Department of Political Science) since 2014.

He previously held a visiting professorship at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (2006–2008) and worked in youth social services and community programs (1996–2006).
