Christian Sottile

Christian Sottile is Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he has taught since 1999 and previously served as Dean of the School of Building Arts (2011-2017). He holds three architecture degrees: a Master's from Syracuse University and both Bachelor's and Master's from SCAD. As principal of Sottile & Sottile, Urban Design since 2000, he leads an award-winning practice specializing in master planning within historic districts and new town development.

Sottile has received over 20 prestigious awards including the AIA National Young Architect Award (2014) and National Trust for Historic Preservation Honor Award (2014). His practice emphasizes community workshops, historic research, urban analysis, and design guidelines for historic districts. He serves on multiple boards including the Creative Coast and National Charrette Institute, and as City Architect for Beaufort, SC since 2006.
