Christian Schaupp

Christian Schaupp is a Professor of Accounting and Coordinator of the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programs at the Chambers College of Business & Economics, West Virginia University. A Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), his work bridges accounting and information systems with a focus on digital transformation in governance and business.

His research centers on Information Technology Adoption, Digital Government, Privacy, and Fake News, with publications in top-tier journals like Communications of the ACM and Government Information Quarterly. Recent work explores blockchain applications, cybersecurity, and the socio-political impacts of digital platforms.

Dr. Schaupp actively contributes to academic communities as co-chair of the Digital Government track at HICSS and through interdisciplinary collaborations. He has received recognition as an IDEA Faculty Fellow and Cloud Analytics Faculty Fellow for innovative teaching initiatives that integrate data analytics into business education.
