Christian Reed Seiter

Christian Reed Seiter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Communication Studies at California State University, Fullerton, within the College of Communications. He teaches courses in health communication, interpersonal communication, and persuasion.

His educational background includes:

• Ph.D. in Communication from George Mason University
• B.F.A. from the University of Utah

Dr. Seiter's research focuses on health behavior change and interpersonal communication, with a special emphasis on end-of-life contexts. His mixed-methods work examines the use of novel message strategies such as humor and worry to encourage families to discuss end-of-life wishes. Additionally, he investigates spiritual communication and social support within health contexts. Drawing from his training as an actor, he develops and evaluates communication workshops and classroom activities.

His scholarly work has been published in journals including Health Communication, The Journal of Health Communication, and Communication Teacher.
