About
Christian Neumann is a Research Fellow and PhD candidate at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ in Leipzig, Germany, affiliated with the Department of Computational Landscape Ecology. His research investigates the impacts of land use and climate change on biodiversity through spatial modeling and global scenario analysis. Current projects include TRANSPATH, which identifies transformative pathways for biodiversity and climate synergy.
He holds an M.Sc. in Natural Resource Management from Martin-Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg (2019–2022), where his thesis modeled climate and land-use effects on European trophic networks, and a B.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences from Humboldt University, Berlin (2014–2019).
Neumann contributes to interdisciplinary teams focused on sustainable land-use solutions and has presented at conferences like the World Biodiversity Forum (2024) and European Conference on Ecological Modelling (2023).
