Christian Hänggi is a Research Fellow at The European Graduate School (EGS) and holds academic positions at the University of Basel, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and the University of St. Gallen. He specializes in literary studies, media philosophy, and advertising ethics. Since 2018, he coordinates the Doctoral Program in Literary Studies at the University of Basel.

His research explores hospitality ethics, media representation, and music in Thomas Pynchon’s works. Collaborations include the music album Now everybody— interpreting Pynchon’s songs and advisory roles at The Fidget Space. He co-founded IG Plakat Raum | Gesellschaft to combat outdoor advertising.
