Christian Greiner

Christian Greiner is a Professor and Head of the Mechanics of Materials and Interfaces (IAM-MMI) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), leading the Additive Manufacturing research group. His office is located in Room 427, Building 421 at Campus Nord, with contact number +49 721 608-28807.

His research focuses on additive manufacturing of components with engineered microstructures, spanning materials science, mechanics of materials, and fusion materials engineering. This work bridges fundamental mechanics with advanced production techniques to optimize material performance in additively manufactured systems.

The Additive Manufacturing group operates under IAM-ZM (Center for Materials) at KIT, developing methodologies for microstructure-controlled component design and contributing to KIT's leadership in materials innovation through the Fusion Materials Laboratory and Mechanics of Materials research units.
