Christian Geddo is a PhD Student at the Institute of Italian Studies (ISI) of the University of Italian Switzerland (USI) and a Lecturer in Glottology and Linguistics (L-LIN/01) at the Department of Humanistic Studies of the University of Eastern Piedmont since 2022. His research is conducted within the FNS project "The Categorization of Information Sources in Face-to-Face Interaction," coordinated by Professor Johanna Miecznikowski.
- Education: Bachelor's (2017) and Master's (2019) in Literature and Philology from the University of Eastern Piedmont with cum laude honors
His research focuses on interactional linguistics, particularly evidentiality, epistemic dimensions in spoken language, and multimodal communication strategies in situ. He works with the TIGR Spoken Italian Corpus to analyze embodied behaviors as evidential practices.
Geddo is affiliated with multiple academic organizations including the Italian Association of Applied Linguistics (AItLA), Swiss Association of Applied Linguistics (VALS-ASLA), and the International Pragmatics Association (IPrA). He serves on the editorial team of Folia Linguistica Historica.
