About
Christian Bak is a Professor and Head of the Poul la Cour Tunnel at the Department of Wind and Energy Systems, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He leads the Rotors Wind Turbine Design Division and has contributed extensively to wind turbine aerodynamics, blade erosion, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Education: MSc in Mechanical Engineering (Energy and Physics), Technical University of Denmark (1987–1993)
- External Experience: Engineer in Fluid Simulation at COWI A/S (1993–1997)
His research focuses on Wind Turbine Engineering, Aerodynamics, and Leading Edge Erosion. Recent work includes wind tunnel experiments, digital twin development for erosion analysis, and optimization of blade root aerodynamics.
Scientific Activities include keynote presentations at TORQUE 2024, WindEurope, and guest lectures on wind energy myths. He supervises PhD projects on blade root design and leading edge roughness categorization.
