Christena Nippert-Eng

Christena Nippert-Eng is Professor of Informatics at Indiana University's Luddy School with adjunct appointment in Sociology. She directs the Animal Computer Interaction Track and researches cognition, privacy, ethnography, and human-animal interaction. Her work combines sociological frameworks with technology design.

Nippert-Eng has authored influential books on boundary negotiation and ethnographic methods. Her current research examines privacy negotiations with domestic robots and human-animal-computer interaction. She has consulted for major technology companies including HP, Motorola, and Steelcase.
